Food security and self-sufficiency are at the heart of our commitment to the local community. We are involved with organizations that work towards this goal with families, as well as those who combat food waste.
Regroupement Partage is an organization fighting food insecurity on the island of Montreal (20 neighbourhoods served; 316,000 people hosted).
We provide food for the Magasins-Partage during important times such as the back-to-school period (32,090 backpacks) and the holiday season (120,150 shopping carts). We support their fundraising efforts as well. This is a long-term commitment to their team and the 36,000 volunteers who work hard to make their mission a reality.
Moisson Montréal is a food bank operating on the island of Montreal, specialized in collecting and sorting grocery products.
We support their initiatives by supplying them twice a week, free of charge, with select ingredients and food products from our stores in Anjou (East of Montreal) and Brossard.
These supplies are then redistributed to beneficiaries and community organizations in Montreal and its surroundings.
The Transformerie is an association co-founded by chef Guillaume Cantin and his partners.
Its main goal is to make use of unsold fruits and vegetables. This initiative helps reduce food waste.
Part of the unsold produce is transformed into spreads, which are then resold in participating stores under the brand name Les Rescapés. The rest of the unsold produce is sorted and redistributed to organizations offering solidarity grocery services in the Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie neighbourhood in Montreal.
